A quick summary...

Hello,

My name is Angela Hansen, I am happily married, and currently a proud mother of one adorable little boy. On August 19, 2011 my last name went from Gagnon-Palick to Hansen. Seth and I were sealed in the Logan Temple for time and all eternity. In March of 2012 Seth and I found out that I was pregnant. We enjoyed telling people on April Fools Day. Gerard Lincoln Hansen was born on November 17, 2012. He weighed 8 pounds 11 ounces and was 21 inches long! We currently reside in the little town of Lake Mills in Wisconsin. Seth is an accountant for Trek Bicycles and I stay at home with our little sweet pea all day. Gerard is now 3 months and 10 days old. We think he weighs about 17 pounds and is maybe 24 inches long? 25? Maybe I will measure him today and get back to you on his length! Either way, he is a big boy!! I am learning that being a mother is more demanding than I expected. When I got pregnant, I basically knew no one that had had a baby. None of my friends had babies. None of my immediate family had babies. So I went into motherhood being pretty naive about what to expect. Midnight feedings, piercing backaches, never ending hunger (him and me) , countless poop and throw up stains (on my clothes and his), days without showers (just me...we keep him clean) ... there was a lot that I didn't expect. To top it all off, I like to be independent. So usually when Seth rushes to my side to help I send him away and tell him I'm fine ... talk about stupid! In all reality, I send him away and then start crying and having a pity party. I'm a work in progress. Sometimes at the end of the day it's hard to feel positive. I begin to feel like my whole day was a waste. Obviously this is wrong!! Something great happens every single day...I get to be with my own son! I get to teach him and watch him grow! I know that I am truly blessed to have a loving husband and a healthy child.

I have a giant heart shaped chalkboard hanging in my kitchen. On it I wrote, "Today I Love You Because..." Seth and I take turns finishing the sentence. It helps us pinpoint the many reasons for why we love each other. So here's my point...the main reason I created this blog is to help me pinpoint my love for my whole family. At the end of the day I want to pick something great that happened. This helps me end the day with a positive attitude, no matter what happened.
