Our Little Model

Gerard knows how to roll from his tummy to his back. Sometimes he's a stinker though and won't do it...he'll just lay on his stomach and scream. However, now he is learning to roll from his back to his tummy! When he does that, he loves to stay on his tummy and play with whatever toy he was rolling over to grab. Every time he's on his stomach he looks like a model. Seth and I just laugh when he folds his arms all nice and smiles pretty.

Hopefully he doesn't get sick of that basketball anytime soon. It's what we use to get him to do all of his tricks!

I also want to post more pictures of him sitting up. Seth and I are so impressed! He was skyping with my sister, Melissa, in this picture. She makes funny faces and noises and he likes to watch. 

He really does make the best faces! This next picture is proof of that...

A Trip to the Lake

After two weeks of total rain, we finally had a sunny day on Monday. It was 67 degrees! It was so beautiful out. (It snowed on Tuesday...but that's another story) So I bundled Gerard up and we went for a walk to Rock Lake. That's the name of the lake here in Lake Mills. 

 He was very interested in the lake. He watched a guy kayaking.

I think he most enjoyed watching the cars driving by behind us.

While we were walking home from the lake Seth caught up with us. He was biking home from work. Gerard was so surprised and happy to see him! So was I. (Seth biked 11 miles to work, 16 miles during lunch with his colleague, and 11 miles home)

When Seth got his bike he would just use regular workout clothes to bike in. His friends would joke around with him and told him what bike clothes to get. Now Seth looks so official in all of his biking gear! He said that a lot of people walk around Trek and go to meetings in their spandex. So cool!

As I've mentioned before, Gerard loves standing and he loves sucking on things. So our kitchen chair was a perfect combo for him.

Gerard is getting better and better every day at sitting by himself. He can sit a little longer each time. He's also learning to bend down for toys and sit back up.

 He absolutely loves that little basketball. Like father, like son.

I love his little mohawk thing too. His hair is getting lighter. It's almost blonde on the sides.

5 Months

I give mad props to people that can post on their blog once a day. Actually, I give mad props to people that even do it once a week. I am seriously falling behind! Maybe if Gerard stopped having milk allergies, and eczema, and acid reflux, and sleep issues, and constipation, and (add anything else that could go wrong) then I would have a few minutes to sit at a computer. The good news is, he's so stinking adorable!

Gerard is officially 5 months old...as of April 17th. He's roughly 26 inches and 18.5 pounds. His favorite thing this month is trying to roll his tongue. Seth can roll his tongue and Gerard just loves it! He tries to imitate Seth but it comes out much different...almost like he is just spitting. It's cute nonetheless! Of course I have an adorable video of him doing it and of course blogger isn't allowing me to post it. Technology hates me. 

So let's move on to cute pictures of Gerard! Have I mentioned how much I love his eyes?

Gerard can sit up all by himself!!!

Gerard has this cute little blanket with a bear on it. This is my absolute favorite picture of him right now. I think he looks like a little Russian...just like his Great Grandpa Bernaden.

We are so happy that we live close to Peter and Tina and their little baby Landon. We feel that it is a blessing that Gerard will have his cousin so close. We had a lunch date on Saturday and we had fun putting them together. Landon is so laid back and carefree and Gerard is always on a mission.

We also attended Landon's baby blessing last week. He was dressed up so cute!!

Sometimes I cannot believe how much Gerard drools! You'd think he would be dehydrated with how much he drools. At least he looks good doing it!

The rest of these are just adorable pictures of my baby boy. I can't believe how fast he is growing. Sometimes I feel time goes too fast and other times I feel time goes too slow (like at 3am). No matter what time of the day it is, he is the love of my life (next to Seth). Sometimes I forget how amazing he is, but he is quick to remind me with his beautiful smile and contagious laugh. 

Sleep

I would give an arm and a leg for a full eight hours of sleep and a daily shower. Is that too much info? Since I barely find time to shower and sleep, I haven't had much time to update my blog. So there are a lot of pictures and I'll give the quick version of how the Hansen clan has been doing. 

Gerard is obsessed with his little feet! It is honestly the cutest thing I have ever seen! It all started when I was leaning him forward to burp him and he kept leaning more and more forward until he grabbed his toes. [Gerard has to put everything in his mouth or else it's the end of the world] So after he grabbed his toes he started shoving them in! If he's in a position where he can't get them all the way in, he will stick his tongue out and lick them. At first I wasn't sure if this was sanitary...but after doing my fair share of google searches I have concluded that sucking on toes is like a right of passage for babies. Feel free to comment if you feel differently. 

I don't know how he bends that way...

Next up, we have a picture from the shoe store. They had a cute kids table with little chairs and Gerard sat in it so nicely! He's getting so much easier to take out in public because he loves looking around. When we go to Costco Seth wears one of those baby carriers. Gerard faces out and loves going down all the aisles. Yesterday I had a meeting with my advisor and I brought Gerard and he just gazed around her office the entire time. What a good boy!

We celebrated Seth's birthday last week. Twenty-nine years old, working for the company of his dreams, in the best shape of his life, has a beautiful son and a gorgeous wife. I would say he's doing pretty well. I'm so proud of everything he's accomplished. Right now he's studying for the CMA and then starting his masters this summer. 

This was Seth at the end of the day...9:00 pm and he was out. He is such a great father and husband. We just love him! I don't know how we got so lucky

Now on to bath time. Gerard has these dry patches all over. Some of them start to crack and get raw. It's the worst on his forehead and cheek. So if you see red spots on his face in some of the pictures, that is why. Anyway, the doctor ordered us to give him a daily bath and then lather him up with lotion. It turned into a spa day for Gerard! He was loving it. I think he likes being massaged. He likes it when I do his legs and feet.

Of course, the best part is his little bum hanging out!! 

Gerard first rolled over [from tummy to back] when he was two months old. It must have just been by chance that he did it that early. He hasn't rolled over since, until last Sunday!! He rolled over...almost all the way. He kind of got stuck. Seth said, "It looks like he might roll over." So I grabbed my phone and somehow captured it!

Well Blogger must not like me today because there's an error every time I try to upload it. So I will keep trying...

Lastly, I just want to say again how much I love Gerard and Seth. My heart melts every time I see them playing or cuddling together. Seth is the best dad out there. Nobody can make Gerard smile like Seth does

Gerard is usually still asleep when Seth gets home from work. When he wakes up Seth grabs him and we all lay down on the bed together and cuddle for a few minutes. I think it's my favorite part of the day.
